Data Fellows set up the worlds First Computer Security Web Site complete with a comprehensive virus encyclopedia.

Data Fellows attends CeBit in Hannover, its first international fair. In the same year, the company launches its first centrally-managed antivirus solution.

The company launches its first major software development project and develops the first heuristic scanner for antivirus products.

F-Secure is first established under the name Data Fellows by Petri Allas and Risto Siilasmaa. Principle operations include training computer users and building customized database systems for industrial customers.
